In our sessions, you can expect to learn more about yourself, your behaviors and your emotions as well as work through the past that is troubling you. We will build up a “toolbox” filled with different coping skills and we will make sure that those coping skills are ones that you enjoy and can really see yourself using. What’s the point of a tool box filled with tools that don’t work for you or that you hate to use?
Therapy should never be a “one size fits all” approach. I say it time and time again to my clients, if we learn a new skill in session and after practicing a bit you decide it’s not for you, that’s fine! We move on to the next skill.
I like to take a client-centered approach in therapy where I act as your guide in the process of healing. These are your sessions, so I want you to get the most out of it!
When working with me, we will work together to create a personalized treatment plan with your individual goals. I will use my trainings in various different modalities to help you reach these goals and establish health coping skills, boundaries and routines.

In my EMDR intensives, we engage in focused sessions that allow for deep exploration and rapid progress. This modality is particularly effective for those seeking to overcome past experiences and move forward with renewed clarity and strength. If you're ready to heal QUICKLY, and don't have time to come in for sessions week after week, intensives were made for you!

This form of therapy focuses on the origins of emotional conflict, self-reflection, examining past experiences and exploring the therapist-patient relationship as a window into the patients relational patterns outside of therapy.

Mindfulness works to integrate present moment awareness as a tool to help you manage difficult emotions. Your therapist teaches you how to build more present moment awareness through non-judgemental observation of your mind and body. This allows you to connect with your inner resources for grounding and coping.

This therapy is a body-oriented approach that works on treating unresolved trauma and other stressors and focuses on body responses.

This is a skill-oriented approach that focuses on the relationship between our thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Your therapist teaches techniques to help you examine and reduce negative thoughts, behaviors and emotional patterns. Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT) is used as well at this practice and uses a more trauma focused lens to teach these skills.

This type of therapy is a trauma based intervention that helps reduce the emotional distress associated with disturbing memories. This helps to reduce distressing emotions, thoughts and physiological sensations that may be associated with the traumatic memory.
